KAREN MENDEZ was born in El Salvador but moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of five. Here she grew up in two worlds rich with artistic diversity. Her love for the arts and philanthropy has always been a constant in her life though it was in college that her appreciation for all things artistic and altruistic intensified. After pursuing a Liberal Arts and Journalism degree, Mendez began her career in public relations, yet it was the love of art and philanthropy that brought her full circle. Having not only great esteem, respect and admiration for the artistic community, especially for those who contribute philanthropically, has served as a touchstone of inspiration. Truly, this not only serves as an incredible journey, but as a labor of love as well.
