The Olympic Games in London begin on Friday, July 27th and for the first time ever, the country of Saudi Arabia will be sending female teammates to represent their country at the games. With the inclusion of females representing the middle eastern country, for the first time in Olympic history every participating nation will have both male and female teams. While this is a wonderful development, Saudi Arabia will only be sending 2 female teammates to this year’s games. Equality is unfortunately still a long way off for this country but thanks to dedicated lobbying from both NGO’s and the International Olympic Committee, a small step will be made this year in London.
