On Saturday, August 25 at the Los Angeles Mission End of Summer Block Party, more than 1,000 pairs of shoes were donated to underprivileged children by the Bobs from Skechers charitable footwear program. The shoes were handed out by the Skechers street team along with some celebrity help from True Blood star Brandon Molale and NBA player Olden Polynice.

For over a decade, the End of Summer block party has been a tradition where underprivileged kids can have fun and forget about the circumstances their families face every day. The giant street fair also provided back-to-school supplies for the kids for their new school year.

Skechers began the Bobs program to give back to children worldwide. Inspired by the idea of gifting a pair to a child in need with every purchase, Bobs has already donated over one million pairs of shoes to kids in over 25 countries and right here in the U.S.

With a reality as grim as facing homelessness, hunger and poverty on a daily basis, the L.A. Mission and Bobs from Skechers teams helped to brighten an afternoon and a new school year for these deserving children.
