Elyse grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and began acting at the age of 11 when she landed a series regular role on the children’s television series “The Incredible Story Studio” which was shot in her hometown. After just one day on set, Elyse knew acting was her passion and the path she wanted to pursue.
As a teenager, Elyse also had the chance to travel the world while working as a model. She spent two years travelling all over Europe and Asia to countries such as Taipei, Greece, and Italy. After coming back to the states, Elyse landed another series regular job on the futurisic televsion series 2030 CE, also shot in her hometown. After spending two years on the show, Elyse moved to Vancouver to further her acting career.
Elyse quickly began booking work in Vancouver including a role opposite Mimi Rogers in Lifetime’s “Storm Cell”, a guest starring role on ABC’s “Men in Trees” and the wife of Edgar Alan Poe in Showtime’s “Master of Horror” episode, “The Black Cat.” She has also had a recurring guest starring role on The CW’s “Smallville” and had a supporting role opposite Academy Award winner Peter Fonda in “Journey to the Center of the Earth.”
Elyse is best known, though, for her lead role in the MGM Universal science fiction series “Stargate Universe” which aired on the SyFy network in the US. Elyse stars as “Chloe Armstrong”, the 23 year old daughter of a deceased US senator, alongside Lou Diamond Phillips and Robert Carlyle (“Once Upon a Time”).
Elyse will be reading “Legacy” and “Temptation” as her performance pieces for “My Letter to Fear”. “Legacy” centers on a woman struggling with the reality that truth will never circulate as quickly as a damning lie, particularly in an internet obsessed world.” “Temptation” depicts a woman lameting over why you should take the chance to see a love who got away, even when you know nothing good can come of it.
