We at IBG love it when people in the public eye use their success for a good cause. We applaud the actors, musicians, and anyone else in the limelight who are kind and generous enough to really make a huge impact in the world around them. Every year, Forbes magazine releases their list of the most monetarily charitable celebrities and while it’s quite a list of generous people, we have a few of our own to add. Over the past few years, we’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing charitable actors who tirelessly continue to raise money for deserving organizations.

1. Gillian Anderson - We’ve been lucky enough to work with Anderson on numerous occasions and at two past events, 2009′s Believe Again and 2011′s Conversation Series event. Perhaps one of the most tirelessly charitable people we can think of, she is the co-founder of the South African Youth Education for Sustainability (SA-YES), on the board of Artists for a New South Africa and has worked to raise money for Neurofibromatosis (NF Network) for many years including participating in their annual National Doodle Day auction as well as helping to secure other doodle participants.

2. Constance Marie - Our headliner from our June 2012 event, My Letter to Fear, is the spokesperson for the East Los Angeles Women’s Center and has also worked with PETA to stand up for the treatment of elephants in captivity.

3. David Duchovny – In addition to participating in our 2011 Conversation Series event which raised money for SA-YES, Duchovny has been a longtime supporter of NF Network and participates annually in National Doodle Day. He also donated a tie last November for an auction benefiting Career Gear and in 2010, donated a lunch on the set of Californication to raise money for Christie’s Green Auction: A Bid to Save the Earth.

4. Tracie Thoms – A Broadway veteran and classically trained Juilliard grad, Thoms participates in many theater related charity events like The 24 Hour Plays held this past summer at the Broad Stage benefiting the NY based Urban Arts Partnership. We were also lucky enough to snag her for our My Letter to Fear reading in June 2012.

5. Jen Lilley – A participant in our June 2012 My Letter to Fear reading, Lilley is a big supporter of Child Help and helps to spread awareness about child abuse and neglect. She is also passionate about The Thirst Project and Charity Water. To learn more about all of Lilley’s charity involvement, click here.
