Random Acts is a division of The Art Department, Inc., and is dedicated to charitable giving, volunteerism and brightening communities through “spontaneous acts of kindness, gratitude, beauty and love.” Random Acts is an US-based 501[c][3] non-profit organization, founded in December 2009 by Supernatural star Misha Collins and Lisa Walker. The organization’s mission is to conquer the world one random act of kindness at a time, and they work with volunteers on five continents to do so, encouraging people of all ages to contribute by doing good works in the world. Thus far they have raised over 30,000 USD for Collins’ “Pony Up” campaign for Haiti, given bicycles to strangers resting in a park, provided supplies to children to create art in a square in Russia, presented a deserving child with a computer and printer, and much more.
On 05 September 2010, Misha Collins will be running a marathon to raise money for Random Acts in order to benefit the three orphanages in Haiti the charity supports, as well as flood relief efforts in Pakistan.
