On Saturday, 03 October 2009, IBG, Inc. was fortunate enough to be able to attend a fundraiser in Simi Valley, CA to benefit the medical treatment of Judi Ward, actor Mitch Pileggi’s (The X-Files, Stargate: Atlantis, Grey’s Anatomy) sister. Ms. Ward was recently diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma (LMS), a very rare form of cancer. As she is uninsured and at this time does not qualify for California assistance programmes such as Medi-Cal or Medicare, the family has come together to reach out for donations to help fund Ms. Ward’s treatment and recovery. At the fundraiser, held at PC’s Bar & Grill, an excellent and somewhat rowdy time was had by all. IBG enjoyed bar food, libations, several rousing rounds of a raffle (that included highly coveted designer bags, handmade jewelry and best of all, alcohol), lovely autographed door prizes and an overall fun-filled and worthwhile afternoon with an absolutely amazing family. We recently spoke with Ms. Ward’s daughter and she informed us that the event raised over 3000 USD for her mother’s treatment. While this is truly an accomplishment for one afternoon, the fundraising cannot stop there.
