Prolific director Kim Manners, beloved to fans of The X-Files and Supernatural for his skilled and innovative directing style, lost his battle with lung cancer on 25 January 2009. To honour the firecracker genius we lost all too soon, we invite our fellow Manners fans to contribute any amount they are able to beginning on 26 January 2009. The funds will be collected and donated to The American Cancer Society in Memoriam of Kim Manners, from his community of fans.
Kim Manners’ work had such a unique touch — a beautiful symphony of timbre, cadence, pitch and meticulous timing. The industry has truly lost an incomparable creative genius. He made us laugh, he made us cry, he scared us, he enlightened us, he made us think. With every flawless direction, with the perfect pitch for the craft he seemed to innately possess, he lit a fire in not only those with whom he worked, but within those he inspired from afar through that work. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who enjoyed the privilege of knowing him.
